The batizado is a celebration of initiation for our new young students. It is when they play capoeira with a teacher or an older capoeirista to receive their first cordão (cord/belt). This tradition is in recognition of their first steps on the capoeira path. Capoeiristas with more time will receive their next cordão in recognition of their hard work and progress. We invite special guest teachers and capoeira friends to come play and celebrate with us. We hope you can join us!
